Something quiet is happening on the Riverwalk. On June 2, the Town issued the Notice to Proceed on the Flower Mound Arts Center, a main-stage theater with flexible performance spaces, a gallery, and an outdoor event lawn stitched into the existing trail system. For residents who have watched the 158-acre district fill in since 2017 with pubs, patios, and the occasional short-lived pizzeria, that date matters more than another ribbon cutting. It is the moment the Riverwalk stops being a place to eat and starts becoming a place to spend a Saturday night start to finish.
That shift is the through-line of this summer. The 2026 openings are not a scattershot restaurant boom. They cluster by corridor, and each corridor is settling into a distinct job.
The Corridor Map, As It Reads Right Now
If you drove the town before the pandemic and have watched the storefronts turn over since, the pattern is easier to see now than it has been in years.
